2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS: FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE DEPLOYS UTILITY VEHICLES, APPROVES HOTLINES FOR OPERATION AND FIRE SAFETY
As Nigerians go to the polls to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general elections, expectations are rising as to how the rising tide of change in narrative could effect a thorough fire safety plan for a grand fire cover through a robust synergy of the Fire Service, Nigerian Police Force, Military and Paramilitary agencies.

The Controller General of Federal Fire Service, Engr Jaji O. Abdulganiyu (MIFire.E MNSE) has therefore deployed utility vehicles to states Controllers to further facilitate their surveillance during the elections and as well approved hotlines to report cases of fire or related

emergencies before, during and after the elections processes to forestall the occurrence of avoidable fire hazards as the general elections draw closer.

Our collective security strategy is to implement the Fire Service mandate for fire prevention which is in tandem with the policies that ensure smooth and safe conduct of election protocols. In the foregoing, the CG warns that members of the public while carry out their civic duties should desist from using or harbouring inflammables (petrol, kerosene etc), primary sources of ignition (cigarettes, lighters, match boxes, etc), explosive devices at or near any polling unit.

The Federal Fire Service calls on all and sundry to call the phone numbers below in their various states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to report any issue that could compromise the safety of lives and property during this period.

AC. Paul O. Abraham
National Public Relations Officer
Federal Fire Service
